TPU Film

TPU film (thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer film) is a high-performance polymer material that combines high strength, high toughness, abrasion resistance, oil resistance, and low-temperature resistance (remains flexible at -40°C). Its thickness typically ranges from 0.01 to 2 mm and is produced through processes such as calendering, casting, blown film, or coating.

PU Film

PU film (polyurethane film) is a multifunctional polymer material made of polyurethane. It has excellent flexibility, waterproofness and breathability and is widely used in industry, medical treatment, electronics and textile fields.

Discover Although TPU film and PU film are both polyurethane materials, their performance, process and application are significantly different.

TPU film: A thermoplastic material that can be repeatedly heated and shaped. Its molecular chain contains thermoplastic segments, which provide better elasticity (elongation exceeding 500%), wear resistance (2-10 times that of natural rubber), and low-temperature resistance (still flexible at -35°C).
PU film: Mostly thermosetting materials, irreversible after setting, low cost but brittle at low temperatures, and may turn yellow after long-term use。
TPU: Recyclable, plasticizer-free, less polluting in production, suitable for thermoplastic processes such as high-frequency welding
PU: Some contain plasticizers, which are less environmentally friendly. Thermosetting PU cannot be processed again.

Application Scenario

PU plastic film, also known as polyurethane plastic film, is a synthetic material with high elasticity, wear resistance, and flexibility. Its ultra-thin thickness of 0.2 mm allows it to perfectly conform to curved surfaces, making it imperceptible. It is often used to repair surface damage on leather clothing, sofas, and other items.
