What Is TPEE Film?

The principle of TPEE as a non-porous breathable film

First, the raw materials of TPEE film are primarily composed of polyester and elastomer. This combination gives TPEE excellent elasticity and softness, while also maintaining a certain level of heat and chemical resistance. This characteristic makes TPEE film resistant to deformation and can withstand certain physical and chemical performance tests.

Secondly, the non-porous breathability of TPEE films depends primarily on the material’s properties and preparation process. TPEE materials possess a certain degree of elasticity, with some elastic segments in their molecular structure. The presence of these elastic segments gives TPEE films high permeability, allowing gas molecules to travel through the film and, through the film’s breathability, enabling gas exchange.

About Our Company and Our People

Furthermore, the manufacturing process also significantly impacts the breathability of TPEE films. TPEE films are typically produced using an extrusion process, where the material is heated to a semi-solid state and then extruded into a film shape using an extruder. During the extrusion process, gases within the material can freely transfer through the molten material, forming a non-porous, breathable film structure. Furthermore, temperature and pressure control during the manufacturing process also have a certain impact on the film’s breathability.

Furthermore, the non-porous breathability of TPEE films can be achieved by regulating molecular weight and chemical structure. The polyester portion of the TPEE material can be modified by adjusting its molecular weight and degree of polymerization to alter its melting temperature and crystallization properties, thereby affecting the film’s breathability. Furthermore, the chemical structure of the polyester can be altered by introducing different functional groups, thereby adjusting the material’s hydrophilicity or hydrophobicity, further affecting the film’s breathability.
